WOLKOWO KENNEL – OUR STORY

In the past few months, a lot of people have been asking, and wondering, how is it that the Wolkowo kennel has three owners and where you can get  information about this particular dog. This is the reason that we decided to introduce ourselves and explain how the Wolkowo kennel was established.

 

My name is DAVOR MARGETA- 36 years old – male – my interest in dogs goes back about 20 year , when my father took me for the first time to a dog show as a visitor. This show had a big influence on me, especially sighthouns and ever since, I follow up all shows very actively.  I started to visit the shows, first in Slovenia and after also all over Europe as a visitor. In the beginning of ‘80’s I was impressed with Bergland and Vorenoff bloodlines and specially with combination of both. Special sign on getting my perfect Borzoi, I got from Vorenoff Wolkowo and Pedro vom Bergland. I still have them both in front of my eyes when I think about the borzoi breed. The kennel Wolkowo was registered in 1987, first litter was born almost 4 year later. From this litter two females went to Helena and Nadja. Like every breeder, I wanted to pass my love for the breed and for the shows to the new owners and this was archived more than successfully with Helena and also with Nadja. The most important thing that happened  was that we became very good friends and also partners. I live alone, together with almost 13 year old Ziganka, 4 year old Apraskin and in short time we expect a new Borzoi member.

Helena Arh – 30 years old – female – she has been an active member of the kennel for 9 years and in all these years we have been visiting all the shows, making breeding plans and running strategy of the kennel together. She is also responsible for the public relations of the kennel. She lives together with her 3 year old son Kristjan, her mother and 3 adult dogs- 9 year old Netochka, 8 year old greyhound male Oliver and 4 year old Almaska with 12 day old puppies. Helena is also an active member of the Slovenian club for sighthounds, as well as  president of the club.

Nadja Krecic – 34year old – female – she joined Helena and me about 3 years ago. She lives together with her boyfriend Zvone -39 year old - male – in a beautiful 8000m2 place at Slovenian coast. They live together with 5 borzois – 13 year old Gafi, 9 year old Zoja, and three 2 year olds Aronija, Asunta and Aksaj. Both Nadja and Zvone are big fans of Borzois and wonderful friends, but they leave shows and breeding plans to Helena and me.

We are very good friends, spending most of our free time together, making breeding plans together and this is the reason, that it doesn’t matter with who, Davor, Helena, or Nadja, a particular dog is living – the important thing is that THAY ARE ALL OUR DOGS.
